Macular degeneration is a group of diseases that damage the central part of the retina (the macula). The macula is where light is focused, and when it is damaged the effect on vision is devastating.
Damage from MD is permanent and progressive, but can sometimes be treated with injections of drugs, and significant research is being done to find other treatments.
The use of high definition scans to check your macula, which gives us the earliest possible detection of MD. Early detection can save your sight.
